Welcome to LATEF, the Latin American Technical Education Foundation.  We are a nonprofit foundation dedicated to providing educational opportunities to aspiring students throughout Latin America.  Our first endeavor is to build the Instituto Tecnico del Caribe, a technical school on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.

In 1995 Dr. Robert Summers met his son John in Costa Rica to persuade him to give up on his idea of building a hotel or diving shop on the Caribbean coast of the country...   Updated September 1, 2001
